Rehabilitation

At Sparrows Hill Rehabilitation, we give a friendly professional service that delivers you peace of mind and your horse the best recovery possible.

Set within 20 acres of parkland, Sparrows Hill Rehabilitation provides horses and owners a fully professional, personal service with understanding and commitment to their needs within a peaceful and calm environment.

The team of highly experienced dedicated staff are responsible for the care of the horses Bringing a horse back into work following significant injury can be a daunting prospect but it doesn’t have to be. Our up to date purpose built facilities with extensive staff experience enable your horse to overcome injury and return to full ridden work as soon as possible.

This whole process is easily and safely achieved with minimal risk of injury to your horse and with reduced stress for you, the owner, who often has to juggle work commitments with the regular controlled horse exercise that is required.

Referral from veterinary clinics ensures that the program of work, dictated by them, is specific to your horse and this program is then followed by Sparrows Hill Rehabilitation. Regular, detailed communication between all parties means that the well-being and ultimate recuperation of each horse is achieved efficiently but without compromise.

The very large diameter KYLIX horse exerciser fitted with astro-turf and eurotrack sand surface, is programmed to the specific speed, direction and duration as set out by your vet within your horses work program.

Use of our KYLIX solarium increases blood circulation within specific muscle groups of the horse’s back. A daily session after work reduces and treats any muscle fatigue and soreness that may be a result of the increasing workload. The provision and use of a small sand turnout paddock with post and rail fencing during the later stages of the work program means that your horse can be reintroduced to a more natural yet controlled environment with a minimal risk of injury.

As well as our highly experienced staff, we also make use of other professionals in the rehabilitation of your horse. These include farriers, physiotherapists, chiropractors and holistic practitioners as required by you or your vet.
